New Revolver

Picked this up 2 weeks ago - just finished mounting a 2x scope on it.

Shot it a few times last weekend - without the scope - fine revolver! I am sure many of you have or have shot one - just joining the club myself.

Best of all, private party sale.

That looks like a deer killing machine!

From a steady hold/braced position - 2X scope, 44Mag heavy hunting loads = deer kills out to 100 yards if you are up to the task.

There is nothing like taking deer with a bow or a pistol.

Even heavy 44 mag loads are not too bad in that large of a pistol.

Coool!!! a Hand Cannon! 44 magnum, what a hard hitter! But more recoil than I enjoy. I have a Lever gun in 44 mag though (I have a cowboy revolver to go with it, but it's just for lookin at).

Thanks - that is the goal - something that I carry when hiking and still hit out to 75-100 yards with accuracy. I picked up a Mike's Sidekick and it is very comfortable to carry - albeit I haven't taken it out on a day hike yet.

I was actually very surprised at the recoil - it wasn't nearly as much as I had expected. But after 12 rounds or so - my arm is a bit tired to keep accuracy - heaviest revolver I've ever owned.

I plan to pick up a .44 lever to pair it with as well - that was another reason for the .44

Shooting 44 specials in my Mountain Gun http://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/67fd24ca600ff010makes it the funnest one I shoot.

***** Cat.

Love the 44 cartridge---eaasy to reload to my needs.

Pachmire grips tame the recoil a lot ---but they are slabby.

Nice! :ok: Those Rugers are strong revolvers. I've got one similiar to that in
.480 Ruger with a Leupold variable scope. I wish I had just got the straight 2x scope.
